The Commercial Vehicle SCR Urea Pressure Sensor is a critical component in selective catalytic reduction (SCR) aftertreatment systems used in heavy-duty diesel-powered commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, and construction equipment. Installed directly on the urea dosing system’s high-pressure pump or storage tank, this sensor continuously monitors the pressure of the aqueous urea solution (AdBlue®) before injection into the exhaust stream. The measured pressure data is converted into an accurate electrical signal and transmitted to the vehicle’s electronic control unit (ECU), enabling real-time optimization of urea dosage, detection of blockages or leaks, and prevention of over-injection that could lead to ammonia slip and reduced catalyst efficiency.
Utilizing advanced ceramic capacitive sensing technology, this sensor delivers exceptional long-term stability, high accuracy, and outstanding resistance to chemical degradation from urea solution exposure. It maintains ±1.0% full-scale accuracy across a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to +125°C), ensuring reliable performance in extreme climates and during extended operation under varying load conditions. The intelligent zero-point and temperature compensation algorithms automatically correct for thermal drift and environmental variations, minimizing measurement errors over time. With excellent EMC/ESD performance, it resists electromagnetic
interference and electrostatic discharge common in complex vehicle electrical systems, ensuring stable signal transmission even in high-noise environments.
The sensor features comprehensive protection mechanisms: overvoltage (18V DC), reverse polarity (-14V DC), short-circuit resistance, and burst pressure tolerance of 3×P max, ensuring durability in demanding applications. Its IP67-rated housing provides complete sealing against moisture, dust, and chemical exposure from urea solution splashes, making it ideal for use in under-hood and under-chassis locations exposed to vibration, shock, and corrosive environments. The compact size and modular design allow for easy integration into existing SCR system architectures, with customizable options for pressure range, output signal (0.4–4.65V or 0.5–4.5V), and physical dimensions to meet OEM-specific requirements.
