Dowway Vehicle is a specialized automotive engineering group with over two decades of industry expertise, founded by veterans from renowned academic and R&D teams. The company focuses on the development and customization of electric vehicles (EVs), offering end-to-end services including product definition, vehicle and core component design, design verification (DV), prototype production, and comprehensive R&D toolchains. Dowway also provides supplier development consulting and bespoke solutions for specialized vehicles.

To date, Dowway has served more than 30 automotive client, led or contributed to over 50 vehicle programs, 100+ patents that underpin its core competency in full-vehicle and chassis development. Its intelligent chassis and steer-by-wire represent cutting-edge in industry. Chengdu headquarters and Intelligent chassis R&D Center, Shanghai Vehicle Performance Center, Chongqing Vehicle Design Center, Changsha Technology and Manufacturing Center. By integrating industrial resources with agile innovation, Dowway empowers automakers to accelerate EV development, enhance performance, improve safety, and bring differentiated, future-ready products to market faster. The Dowway Vehicle team is dedicated to advancing both management excellence and technological innovation in parallel. Our management team comprises seasoned industry leaders with extensive frontline experience, strategic vision, and a robust management philosophy. Meanwhile, each professional and technical domain is spearheaded by either an academician-led team or top-tier talent recruited from leading universities—individuals who combine deep theoretical expertise with exceptional innovation capabilities, ensuring continuous technological advancement. The technical team, which includes over 400 members, features doctoral-level experts from renowned universities leading critical areas such as vehicle performance and intelligent systems. To further strengthen our technological foundation and talent pipeline, the Dowway Foresight Research Institute has established long-term, stable collaborations with prestigious universities, jointly pursuing cutting-edge research and co-developing talent. Additionally, through our ongoing strategic partnership with Siemens, we are actively building world-class engineering capabilities. Together, these initiatives ensure that Dowway maintains industry-leading competence in both technical R&D and engineering service delivery.

Zhan Siya

Ph.D., Hunan University; core member of the research team led by Academician Zhong Zhihua. Currently serves as COO of the Changsha Technology and Manufacturing Center, Vice President of an automotive research institute under a Chinese state-owned enterprise, and Deputy General Manager of Dexian Automotive Technology. Expertise: vehicle and component manufacturing, product development, and supply chain management.

Liu Congzhi

Ph.D., Tsinghua University; Doctoral Supervisor, Chongqing University. Director of the Software and Intelligence Center and Chief Scientist at Yingchuanhuizhi Company. Editorial Board Member of JAUTO, CES, and WEVG. Member of SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), AUTOE, and IEEE. Published over 20 SCI/EI-indexed papers in journals such as IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics (TIE) and IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems (TITS), and authored the books Intelligent Vehicle System Dynamics and Control and Intelligent Vehicle System Dynamics: Modeling and Simulation. Served as a member of the Tesla Accident Appraisal Expert Group under the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Zuo Hengfeng

Chief Stylist, Dowway; Researcher, Tsinghua University; Visiting Professor, Southampton Solent University (UK). Former Design Director for China at Pininfarina (Italy), Senior Lecturer at Brunel University (UK), and Visiting Scholar at the Royal College of Art (UK). Senior Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3, UK). Expertise: interior and exterior design of smart new energy vehicles, product design, CMF (Color, Material, Finish), perceptual psychology, and design aesthetics. Led research projects including CMF development for Boeing commercial aircraft interiors and SAIC Motor products.

Vehicle performance Integration center is Dowway key to build a characteristic technology center, Dowway forward-looking research institute to provide cutting-edge technology and high-level talent support.
