The Wheel Speed Sensor is a critical safety component installed near each vehicle wheel to monitor rotational velocity and detect changes in wheel motion. This data is vital for the operation of key electronic stability systems such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control System (TCS), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). By continuously measuring the speed of each wheel, the sensor enables the vehicle’s electronic control unit (ECU) to detect potential skidding, lock-up, or loss of traction—allowing immediate corrective actions like modulating brake pressure or adjusting engine torque to maintain vehicle control and prevent accidents.

This sensor employs advanced magnetic sensing technologies including Hall-effect, Anisotropic Magnetoresistance (AMR), or Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR), which provide high sensitivity, excellent signal stability, and strong resistance to electromagnetic interference (EMI). It features a standard two-wire current interface, simplifying integration into existing automotive electrical architectures. The integrated capacitor enhances noise immunity, ensuring reliable operation even in harsh environments with high levels of electrical noise from ignition systems, alternators, and other onboard electronics.

The sensor uses magnetically compatible iron cores with uniform air gaps, ensuring consistent performance across different operating conditions and minimizing signal drift over time. Its compact, robust design allows direct mounting on the wheel hub, axle, or steering knuckle, with flexible installation options to accommodate various vehicle platforms. The use of PA612 material provides superior water resistance and durability under exposure to moisture, road salt, and temperature extremes—from -40°C to +125°C.
