The Wheel Speed Sensor is a critical safety component installed near each vehicle wheel to monitor rotational velocity and detect changes in wheel motion. This data is vital for the operation of key electronic stability systems such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control System (TCS), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). By continuously measuring the speed of each wheel, the sensor enables the vehicle’s electronic control unit (ECU) to detect potential skidding, lock-up, or loss of traction—allowing immediate corrective actions like modulating brake pressure or adjusting engine torque to maintain vehicle control and prevent accidents.
